"The Mudfish Goddess" in The Outcast
Oct. 25th, 2005 02:59 amGot my acceptance letter this morning for placing The Mudfish Goddess in the Outcast Anthology. According to what I received, the anthology will be launched at Conjure next Easter. It's taken a long time to find this story a home. I'm very glad for it.
The Mudfish Goddess revolved around Godi, a girl locked away in her village's isolation hut on the occasion of her first period. It was probably the first straight fantasy story I ever wrote. It probably still is the only straight fantasy story I ever wrote. This is also my first publication in a couple of years, so it really is gladdening to get out of a dry run.

Date: 2005-10-28 03:18 pm (UTC)I'd been wondering for so long if the story would find a home, really. It's been trying to root itself for probably as long as I've known you. Btw, Things That are True sounds like a wonderful little place. I have half a mind to write a story about hillocks now, I really do. And try and send it in before Nov 1. Y'know, send it in because it sounds like a lovely little place.
